Dear friends, here are some photos of Curitiba and the surrounding area as I did with some friends of FGV early September!
Curitiba is the capital of Parana Étrat of the southern state of Sao Paulo, was founded in 1654 . She was elevated to municipality March 29, 1663 (the date chosen by the city for the foundation), as the Vila de Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais (Town of Our Lady of Light Pine ). Its current name was chosen in 1721 during the visit of Raphael Pardinho Pires, a Official of the colonial administration. It comes from the Tupi word Curii Tiba, meaning the city of pines , referring to the many hills surrounding pines.
City rather European immigration, there are communities of German, Polish, South Slavic but also Japanese.
We left at 9 and got back all safe! It was not easy because we went by car, and we must see how the Brazilians lead: MAJOR SICK! The concept of priority or right of solid line is proficient abstract, I do not mean the motorway or overtaking is frequent 3.5 t to see cars easily double by the left ... or the right! When there are emergency lane they quickly become a passing lane. I find that Italian immigration has greatly influenced the manner of driving of our Brazilian friends.
Little Photo Shoot:
A View of Morretes, colonial town Curiiba linking to the coast, is not it lovely?
